Steve Lee is a night assistant at the Australian Astronomical Observatory (AAO).

He has built his own telescope in his backyard, and he also has a comet named after him. Steve and his old observatory colleague, world-renowned astrophotographer, David Malin, take us on a journey of the Observatory’s past, reflecting on the beautiful landscape above our heads.

Steve and the Stars was made to celebrate 40 years of stargazing at Siding Springs for the Australian Astronomical Observatory’s annual StarFest event in October 2014.
